Pamela Welson’s retirement

The London Registry team are sorry to announce that one of our colleagues, Pamela Welson, has taken early retirement. Not that Pam is going to be a “lady of leisure”; she will be busy working on a small charity she runs which supports elderly people.

Pam has worked in the London Registry since 2008, where she has been a valued member of the team.  She originally joined the EBMT as cover for maternity leave, but she was such an asset to the team, she remained working with us until her retirement.
She has contributed enormously to the EBMT Annual Meeting educational sessions, organising Speakers, topics, Chairs etc.  Pam was always extremely motivated in ensuring that these sessions ran smoothly and also that everyone was happy. She also helped with taking the minutes of the Data Registries Group and the Definitions Group. Pam had a key role in organising the ProMIse training sessions during the Annual Meetings.

Pam will be greatly missed by all her colleagues and we would like to wish her a healthy, happy retirement and all the very best for the future.

New staff members

Áurea Villar, new JACIE HR (Volunteers) Coordinator in the Barcelona EBMT Office

Áurea Villar joined JACIE mid July as HR (Volunteers) Coordinator. This new role will focus on the critical volunteer contribution that makes JACIE the success story it is today - inspectors particularly but also committee members.
Áurea is from Barcelona. She studied Law and later completed a Masters in HR in 2012. She worked as a lawyer but a career change took her to Médecins sans Frontières where she worked as a HR coordinator for more than 6 years, both in headquarters and Africa.
Áurea brings to JACIE her multicultural experience, her knowledge in HR strategies for recruitment and retention, but most of all how to empathise, connect and take care of people. Do not be surprised if you hear from her over the coming months as she starts to gather information, opinions and impressions on the role of volunteers.
