19th annual ESH-EBMT Training Course
May 21-23 2015 in Málaga, SpainChairs: Jane Apperley, Enric Carreras, Eliane Gluckman and Tamás Masszi.
Local Organiser: Monserrat Rovira
The Training Course has become a well-known and appreciated annual event. It is designed to provide comprehensive training for junior scientists, clinicians, database managers, technicians and nurses, including those still in-training. It provides an update for senior colleagues, and useful guidance for the development of new transplant centres or for the introduction of new techniques in established centres, according to JACIE standards.
205 participants from 41 countries gathered in Malaga for 2,5 days of intensive training. The faculty of European experts in the field remained present throughout.
The simultaneous Breakfast Meet the Expert sessions provided opportunities for direct scientific exchange with the members of the faculty, and were particularly popular. The case study sessions, based on real cases, were also a highlight of the meeting.
All attendees enjoyed real time access to the slides being presented during the course.
Everyone joined a get-together dinner on the beach on the last evening of the meeting, offered by the Spanish Transplant Group GETH. This typical, local meal was not only a lot of fun but also an opportunity for informal scientific exchange between friends.
Our thanks to the corporate partners of this year’s course: Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Miltenyi Biotech, Sanofi and Pierre Fabre Médicament.
We hope you will all join us in Budapest in May 2016 for the 20th anniversary of the Training Course! Mark your agenda!
