EBMT NEWSLETTER | June 2016 | Volume 52 - Issue 3

Important dates

It is quite difficult to express in just a few words all the satisfaction you feel when you succeed on a long-time planned project, and when one of your major objectives is fulfilled. And this is exactly our experience at the EBMT, with the launch of our first EBMT International Transplant course (EBMT-ITC). It not only represents a great addition to our educational agenda, but is also our trump card for placing EBMT in the privileged position of being always on the lead to disseminate knowledge, and advance the field of stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.

The launch of such important mid-size educational event to be held in Barcelona, on 9-11 September, 2016, has been made possible thanks to the efforts and determination of all EBMT board members and educational unit staff. They have worked perfectly together in order to define a cutting-edge program which tackles the hottest topics in the field, while allowing enough room for direct contribution from the most junior colleagues, through numerous case reports which will follow each seminal lecture.

The EBMT-ITC is part of a broader initiative, which will encompass the launch of a specific high level “EBMT stem cell transplant physician curriculum” (ESCTC). This project is currently under construction. Our goal is to prepare the next generation of leaders and experts in the field. This EBMT curriculum will rapidly become a key feature of EBMT achievements as part of our commitment towards delivering state of the art care for our patients.

EBMT continues to evolve and grow, and is always committed to quality of care, modern education and therapeutic innovations. It is a true pleasure for me serving EBMT.

Take care and see you soon in Barcelona, 9-11 September, 2016.
Mohamad Mohty
EBMT President
