JACIE in 2016
FACT and JACIE will soon publish new requirements to cover the administration of immune effector cells among which are CART cells. Their primary aim is the safety of the recipient in relation to associated adverse reactions. The requirements will be published as interim standards in the 6th
edition of the FACT-JACIE International Standards. Centres not administering such products will not be required to make any changes. These standards are not
intended to regulate the manufacturing process. See the JACIE web site www.jacie.org
for full details.

A 2-day course was held in Arlanda near Stockholm at the end of November. Twenty-five participants came from Denmark (2), Finland (3), France (1), Norway (5), Oman (1) and Sweden (13). This is a significant endorsement by the main governmental agency for transplantation in Spain and incorporates the experience of Fundación CAT, active for over 40 years in developing standards for blood banks and related services.
